Great Falls Park

Today we decided to go to Great Falls Park. We have never been there before and heard that it is beautiful. The pictures don't give it justice, it's pretty cool to see.

The water was rushing so fast. There was a sign that said 7 people a year drown in the waters. Scary!

Daddy and Carmine. Don't worry he is holding on tight!

Daddy and his boys.

Rock playground

There were 3 different places you could overlook the falls. We were on our way to a different overlook and the boys were loving the climb. Even though they don't look like it in this picture. They just didn't like that we made them hold our hands. They wanted to climb by themselves.

We found a rock slide and the boys loved it.

They had to take turns going down it several times.

More family pics.

Mommy and boys.

I thought this would be a cool place to have a family picture.

At the end the boys were hungry (are you surprised?) We had a fun time there, and maybe when their older we can take them on a hike next time.

The BEST cookies ever!

I made these cookies when are friends were here and they loved them. Someone told me to put the recipe on my blog so they can make them. So here you go:
In bowl mix:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 ts. baking soda
  • 1/2 ts. baking powder
  • 1 ts. salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut

Mix together

In separate bowl mix:
  • 2 sticks softened butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ts. vanilla extract

Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients. After it's mixed all together at in 6 oz. of chocolate chips and 3/4 cup of nuts if desired.

Bake on 350 degrees on greased baking sheet for 11-13 min.

(Makes 5 dozen)

This is the finished product. I have to say that I have looked for the perfect chocolate chip recipe for so long and when I found this one, the whole family and everyone who has ever tried them love them.
GOOD LUCK BAKING!

MMMM, Delicious

Anthony's friends came into town last week and Nate and Keira wanted to go to the Zoo. I bought all of us suckers and the Boys loved them! (and Keira too)

Nate and Keira with their yummy suckers!

Lions Oh, My!

The boy's loved this Lion, they were making lion sounds.

Me and my boys! Carmine is so funny he totally put his arm around me and Braxton all by himself. He loves to take pictures.

A day at the Zoo

Here is Nate practicing for when he has his own kids

At the Zoo they have ropes for the monkeys to cross to go to different sides of the park. I guess they wont jump because they are too smart. It's cool to watch.

Braxton had so much fun, he totally passed out!

Dinner with friends

As I mentioned above 6 of our friends came to visit and we all went out to dinner. This is Carmine with Matt and Gian.

Keira, Nate, Bridget and Maki.

Family pic at dinner.

Walking to the Pentagon

We were on our way to the Pentagon and Bridget was tired and wanted a ride.

Carmine and Braxton wanted a ride to.

All of us walking to the Pentagon.

At the White House

Anthony and I got a babysitter one night to go out with our friends alone. We all went out to dinner and walked to the White House.

The pictures of the White House didn't turn out that well, but you get the idea. Did you you know that this is the back of the House? I always thought it was the front because it is so much bigger then the other side.

Nate, Anthony,Matt,Nick and Maki in front of the White House.

Me,Keira,Bridget and Gian at the White House. We had a lot of fun there, we all played some game in front of the White House that they made up . I am sure Obama was watching and he was jealous he couldn't play with us. Maybe next time Obama!

All Done!!!

A couple of weeks ago we turned Braxton's bed into a toddler bed. At first he would get out and play and one night fell asleep on the floor. He is now used to his bed and no longer falls asleep on the floor, and he has only fallen out 1 time.

So, we put him in a big boy bed and now it's time to get ride of the BINKY! Some one gave me this idea, and it totally worked! One night we were getting the boys ready for bed and Braxton asked for his binky so I went in the kitchen to get it and cut off the tip. I gave it to Brax and he grabed it and started to run off. He stopped dead in his tracks and looked at it and said "Mommy, Uh Oh, it's broken " So he ran back to me to show me and I told him "Oh No, a mouse got it!" He bit off the top" and Brax said "Oh a mouse?" So then I told him he better go and throw it in the garbage, and he did. He went to bed without it just fine and the next night he said "the mouse got the binky, hu mommy?"And that was it! It worked we are now binky free! Next up POTTY TRAINING! (I'm not excited)

Sneaky Braxton

A couple of weeks ago Braxton was driving me crazy!!! He would get into the pantry every day, ALL DAY, and get himself food. Every time I would catch him I would put him in timeout, spank or flick him. (I swear I don't beat my kids!) No matter what I did I would punish him and talk to him, tell him not to do it and he says "OK, I wont". 5 seconds later he is in the pantry again! Damn kid! I now just have to laugh at it, he is a very persistent little boy and will do what is necessary to get what he wants.

Here he is watching T.V., just relaxing and eating his pretzels he got all by himself.

BUSTED! And then he gives them back. I will say it only happened that week and he does not do it anymore. (for now.)
